PRESIDENT’S NOTE

ABAC Members, Sponsors, Supporters, and Friends,

As I reflect on my time as President of ABAC, I am filled with gratitude and pride for all that we as a board and organization as a whole, have accomplished together. It has been an incredible journey, and I am truly honored to have had the opportunity to lead such a dedicated and passionate team.

Over the past 6 years, our organization has grown both in reach and impact, thanks to the unwavering support of our board members, donors, and members. Together, we have raised vital funding, initiated a mentorship and scholarship programs, amplified local philanthropic organizations and their initiatives, and brought attention to critical issues that matter to the Atlanta Mediascape. Each project, new event and fundraising initiative we launched and every story we told was a testament to our shared commitment to making a difference all while having a great time!

None of this would have been possible without the amazing ABAC Board ( past and present )  and volunteers, who poured their hearts and souls into our missions of philanthropy, education and networking. Each of you have inspired me every day with your dedication, creativity, and resilience even in the face of some of the roughest times in media that I can remember. I am confident that the foundation we’ve built will serve as a springboard for the new leadership that will take the helm after me.

As I step down, I leave with enthusiasm and pride, knowing that our organization is in the very capable hands of your next President, Susan Russel Alexander. I encourage everyone to continue supporting ABAC and embracing the vision we have cultivated together. Let’s keep breaking records, challenging the status quo, and striving for a brighter future for our industry and upcoming industry leaders.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this incredible community. It’s done so much for me during the past few years, giving me a purpose, teaching me lessons in leadership and giving me the opportunity to make great friends.  I look forward to witnessing the successes that lie ahead and will always cherish the memories we’ve created together.

With heartfelt appreciation,

Darryn Persaud
Outgoing President
